I'm glad you made this, I didn't know anyone else felt this way about Doom. On the last few missions of Doom 2 I was overcome by this feeling of dread and that night when I went to sleep I had dreams not dissimilar from this. Under all the rip and tear bravado, there's something kind of unsettling about Doom you really touched on here.

Thanks! Yeah, and I don't get the same feeling with the newer dooms. One thing I remember clearly was running over all the corpses of the monsters I'd slain, while backtracking looking for a key or door. Something about how the corpses just hung around and didn't disappear like in most other games stood out to me.

i know this comment was from 3 years ago, but i just have to say that the whole corpses still being there while you backtrack, giving an ominous overhead to the whole thing that just wasn't there before is basically the post-mission hotline miami experience all over again.

Found some rather interesting pathways such as a hill that leads to an area with a green pool or something and a red colored area

Kind sir, I have no idea what was going through your mind, but I played this for longer than I should've. I might start getting nightmares!

I liked the feeling it conveyed and the music fits great.
